About

TWEETEA Happens every Tuesday at 7:30pm.*

TWEETEA is a weekly event born out of a Chinese tea shop in Royal Oak, Michigan. It is a gathering of friendlies, who happen to be enthusiastic about social media. These individuals are multi-generational, come from all walks of life and enjoy careers in diverse industries such as PR, marketing and media.

Our focus is on building relationships with our neighbors while learning new things. Each week, we have a discussion topic that revolves around social media or community. What starts as one topic usually evolves into several discussions by the end. The beauty of TWEETEA is there are no rules – just community-building and great conversation.

At TWEETEA, you can chat with people who work for small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, as well as interact with entrepreneurs and independent media professionals. Don’t let sales or growing your business be your only intent. What you’ll come to learn at TWEETEA is your neighbors are really cool people, and building a friendship before building a business lead is powerful.

Again, TWEETEA is a Michigan-based product, but thanks to the spectacular world of social networks, we have interfaced with people from across the country and abroad. Fantastic people like iPhone app developer Henry Balanon, smart marketer Danny Brown, expert podcaster Roxanne Darling and comedian Erik Allen are members of the TWEETEA alumni. Want help starting a TWEETEA in your neck of the woods? Contact us at meetus [at] tweeteahappens.com!

Currently, we have three (3) TWEETEA locations in the Metro Detroit area. Each one meets every week. We encourage you to attend the one that is closest to your home!
